SPH stands for sphere, which indicates myopia (Nearsightedness) and hyperopia (farsightedness). CYL stands for cylinder and AXS stands for Axis. For people with astigmatism, both CYL and AXS data should be provided.
The screen of VR headset emits blue light, which is a type of light ray that is detrimental to your eyes under prolong exposure. Blue light from computer screens and digital devices can decrease contrast leading to digital eyestrain. Symptoms of eyestrain include sore or irritated eyes and difficulty focusing. Also, blue light will disrupt your biological clock and disrupt your sleep cycle. People may find it hard to get to sleep because they are exposed to screens before they go to sleep.

Better than I ever imagined!
I have been using my Quest 1 headset for a few years now but it would always give me a headache because of the eye strain. I started wearing my prescription glasses in the headset, but I worried about scratching the preinstalled lenses.
When my husband suggested that I buy prescription lenses for the Quest 1, I must admit that I was skeptical. I am so happy that I did now. I have had them for two weeks and everything is clear and it is so nice not to have the weight of the headset pushing my glasses into my nose all of the time. I wish I had done it years ago. I now use it almost daily, whereas before, I would only use it about once a month.
I also wanted to mention that when I ordered my lenses, I accidentally uploaded a copy of my old outdated prescription with the order. I had used the new prescription when I filled out the form so there was a discrepancy. The team at VR Wave noticed the error immediately and contacted me so that my order would not be delayed or made incorrectly. That really sealed the deal for me. Lenses great but adapter does not fit my Rift headset.
Perhaps my Rift is a different model but none of the adapters could fit because the flexible black cloth goes right up to edge of lens and I could not snap on or remove the ring shown around lenses in videos. When taped in, the optics looked fine but I still have to resolve how to mount the magnetic adapter myself with glue or something more permanent.
