Best VR Games That Support Full Body Tracking

List of games that support full body trackers

In our previous post, we delved into setting up full body tracking (FBT) for your Quest 2 or Quest 3 headset. If you haven't read that guide yet, we highly recommend checking it out here first to get your FBT system up and running.

Now that you've got your trackers calibrated and your virtual body moving in sync with your real one, you're probably wondering, "What games can I play that support these?" In this post, we're going to explore a variety of VR games and experiences that support full body tracking, from social platforms to intense action games and everything in between.

So, strap on those trackers, clear some space in your play area, and let's dive into the full body tracking in VR games!

VRChat

VRChat is the quintessential social VR platform that fully embraces full body tracking. Available for free on Steam, this social space allows users to embody custom avatars and interact with others in a vast multiverse of user-created worlds.

VRChat

VRChat offers hundreds of thousands of worlds and millions of avatars, all created by users. It supports both VR and desktop modes, but truly comes alive in VR. Users can engage in a wide range of activities, from casual conversations to mini-games and live events. The platform also provides tools for creating custom worlds and avatars.

VRChat's implementation of FBT allows for natural movements and expressive interactions. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Ensure your trackers are turned on and recognized in SteamVR.
  2. Launch VRChat.
  3. Open the in-game menu and select 'Calibrate FBT' under the Quick Actions section.
  4. Your avatar will enter a T-pose stance.
  5. Align your body with the avatar's position, ensuring trackers match the corresponding body parts.
  6. Click the triggers on your controllers to confirm the position.

With FBT calibrated, your avatar will mirror your full-body movements. This allows for more natural expression through body language and a stronger sense of presence. Many VRChat worlds and games are designed with FBT in mind, offering unique interactions and gameplay opportunities.

Beat Saber (With FeetSaber mod)

Beat Saber is a popular VR rhythm game where players slash through beats of adrenaline-pumping music. While the base game uses hand controllers, the FeetSaber mod transforms this experience into a foot-based rhythm game, similar to Dance Dance Revolution (DDR).

Beat Saber Steam VR

FeetSaber, created by modder Naluluna, attaches virtual lightsabers to the player's feet, allowing them to slice blocks by stepping or stomping. This mod lowers note blocks to ground level, creating a unique DDR-like experience in VR. It's part of the NalulunaModifier collection, which includes other unconventional mods like "Boxing" and "Badminton."

Setting up FeetSaber:

  1. Download BSManager and downgrade Beat Saber to version 1.27.0 by clicking on the plus sign on the bottom left of the window. 1.27.0 can be found in the 2022 section.
  2. Ensure BS Utils, Custom Avatars and BeatSaberMarkupLanguage are installed in the mod list.
  3. FeetSaber is part of a collection by modder Naluluna, you can download the mod here.
  4. Move the dll file to C:\Users[YourUsername]\BSManager\BSInstances\1.27.0\Plugins by default, or wherever you set the path for your downgraded versions of Beat Saber to go.
  5. Launch Beat Saber version 1.27.0 through BSManager.
  6. In-game, look to your left and under 'mods' click on 'avatars'.
  7. To the right of the mirror click on 'template - full body'.
  8. Go back to the left and click on 'current avatar', then click on the calibrate button. Look down and make sure that the little white balls (that represent your trackers) are on the Beat Saber foot prints, then click 'save'.
  9. Go to solo mode, click 'mods' on the left menu, navigate to Naluluna, select Feetsaber, and enable desired options.
